The Elton John Tribute Show in Las Vegas

Elton John played his final Las Vegas residency show in 2018, and the farewell tour closed in 2023. There is no Elton John show on the Strip any more — which is exactly why people keep searching for one. Sir Elton is the tribute built for that gap: a live Elton John tribute concert at the Pegasus Showroom, starring pianist and vocalist Jeff Burkett.

Is this Elton John, or a tribute?

A tribute — and we'd rather you know that before you book than after. Jeff Burkett is not Elton John and doesn't pretend to be him offstage. What the show recreates is the thing that made those concerts work: a real piano, played live, at the front of the room, with the catalogue delivered in order of how hard it hits — Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer, Bennie and the Jets, Crocodile Rock, Your Song — plus the costume changes and the glasses. If you wanted Elton and can't have him, this is the closest live version Las Vegas currently has.

What makes a good Elton John tribute

Most tribute acts stand or fall on one thing, and with Elton it isn't the outfits — it's whether the performer can actually play. The catalogue is piano-led and technically demanding; a backing track gives it away in the first eight bars of Someone Saved My Life Tonight. Sir Elton is a live piano show, which is the reason it survives comparison with the recordings people arrive with in their heads.
